My Journey

HI everyone! And welcome to my blog. First off I would like to introduce myself, and tell you a little bit about me.

So, my name’s Kelsey, I’m 20 years old and I’ve been a “fitness junkie” for about a year now. Being an avid dancer since I  was about 10, I was never too concerned about what I put into my body and how I treated it, but we’ll get to that later.  Let’s rewind back in time to who I was “pre-gym rat.”

Circa 2014: a freshman in college.. who partied… a lot. Now I won’t get into specifics but those of you who have gone through college surely know what I’m talking about. Well, after one year at my university I decided it was time to make a change. I had gained weight, was unhappy physically and mentally and simply drained from all the partying I had done.

I came home and begun attending Community College and started messing around in the gym to lose the so obvious weight I had gained via alcohol and late-night food orders. I looked up workouts on pinterest, instagram, YouTube- you name it to find workouts I thought would get me the results I so desperately wanted.

Finally after I begun seeing results, I was hooked. I started training harder and changing up my diet. I went from eating dominos and fast food at least once a week to eating clean and going completely dairy-free. I did research on food and learned how to count macros and meal prep. Green juices became protein shakes became a staple in my diet and with that I found my skin cleared up and I was seeing REAL results that were lasting.

I begun seeing a trainer who showed me proper form and what it means to push yourself in the gym. I became so in love with it I switched my major to Public Health Studies and decided I wanted to start training people and sharing my knowledge.

I am not in any means an expert, I am simply here to document my journey and speak to those who will listen about my experiences, what worked for me, and how I did it, and to lend support to anyone who needs it- no matter what stage in your journey you’re in. If you have ANY questions about fitness, food or simply want to chat and share stories, feel free to contact me via e-mail or through my instagram.

If I could give ONE tip that sticks with you, it would be to never doubt yourself and never give up. Consistency is the key with anything and especially with a healthy lifestyle you can’t afford to be anything but consistent.

Get up, and get after it.
